How we communicate
School communications are (mostly) digital -- we like being as 'green' as possible! Below is a listing of the various ways we distribute information to our community.
NEWSLETTER (DRAGON DIGEST)
The weekly newsletter is sent by email to all parents/guardians on Wednesday morning. It includes upcoming events/meetings, SFUSD announcements/articles, volunteer opportunities, legislative action updates, and other essential school information.
Have an event or announcement to share with our community?
Deadline: Sunday, 7pm
Submissions: Send notices and info to email@example.com
Policies: We publish only news and announcements that are directly related to our school, our community, or our PTA/SSC programs. No outside announcements, sports team requests, or commercial announcements. If you have questions, email us.

Every morning at 7:50am, our principal, welcomes all students and their families at the Upper Yard for Morning Circle. Upcoming events, reminders, and other school news is announced at this time.
The newsletter email list is also used for official school announcements from our Principal (e.g. class assignments, test information, policies), so please make sure we have your correct email address on file.

HALLWAY BULLETIN BOARDS
These boards allow classes to share what they’re working on, while other boards are dedicated to certain topics or committee activities. Walk the halls of school for amazing artwork and fun info.
IN-CLASS DISTRIBUTIONS (CHECK YOUR CHILD'S BACKPACK!)
In a effort to reduce the use of paper, most of the school's communication is online. Some forms however may still be sent home with your child in their bags each week (field trip forms, etc.)
Other ways to be in the know!
Join the community Yahoo! Group or Facebook Group for your child(ren)'s school year, and follow Miraloma on social media. NOTE: These are not moderated by the school or forums where official school communications take place.
Yahoo/FB Groups: Connect with other Miraloma families, set up play dates, sports teams, grade-wide camping trips etc.
To join the Yahoo Group grade-wide ListServs -- go to the link and click "Join".
To join the incoming Kindergarten group, request to join the group on the Facebook page.
We also have a school-wide ListServ for informal communication within our school's community.
